DESCRIPTION:Journey through 150 years of Polish music hand-picked by Shreveport’s Polish-born violist Borys B. Smolaga. It’s a cross-cultural experience you won’t want to miss! \nCome see Carrefour at Holy Cross on October 30th at 7 pm as they kick off a fantastic season of music-making and community-building with “From Poland: With Love”! \nWe’ve had the opportunity to enjoy Carrrefour’s music at Holy Cross several times. So\, we’re delighted to have this incredibly imaginative and wildly talented group here at Holy Cross for their upcoming season. \n\nTaking its name from the French word for “crossroads\,” Carrefour Collaborative Music Project is an arts organization based in Shreveport\, Louisiana. It was once a geographical crossroads where river traffic once connected to land routes and is now at the intersection of two major interstates. It came into being during a historical crossroads filled with turbulence and uncertainty and focuses on chamber music\, a musical crossroads that falls between solo and orchestral music. But the greatest passion of CCMP is the crossroads between performer and audience\, a critical communal partnership.
